FEEDING AND ECOLOGICAL CAPACITY IN THE Kochia scoparia (L.) Schrad. ANNUAL HALOPHYTE IN ARID REGIONS OF RUSSIA AND CENTRAL ASIA

E.Z. Shamsutdinova, Z.Sh. Shamsutdinov

The authors made the comparative ecologo-geographical examinations of variants (ecotypes) of the Kochia scoparia (L.) Schrad. annual feeding halophyte in arid regions of Russia and Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan) and also the selection of salt-tolerant and high productive forms. The polymorphous intraspecific structure of Kochia scoparia was established. The most prospect forms, k-163, k-34 and k-114, after their irrigation by salt water and fertilizer application generated 13.2-15.1 tonnes of dry feed mass per 1 hectare. These forms should be used for the production of high-protein and energy-saturated forage.

Keywords: halophyte, Kochia scoparia, saline waters, irrigation, arid zones of Russia and Central Asia.
