An effectiveness of the Arcusit, 2-methyl-4-dimitrilaminometilbenzimitazol-5-ol dihydrochloride, a new generation synthetic antioxidant, developed and manufactured in the Russian Federation, was studied in the cattle-farm trail. The Swiss calves were fed with the Arcusit for 14 day after birth at a daily rate of 5 mkg/kg or for 21 days at 12 mkg/kg, and the blood indexes were estimated to characterize a response of natural protective mechanisms to the Arcusit. The first scheme of oral administration was shown to lead to rising natural resistance in calves by 60 days age, as indicated by the increase in O2-dependent microbicidal activity of blood neutrophils, whereas the second one activated T-lymphocytes.

Кеуwords: antioxidant, Arcusit preparation, neutrophils, T-lymphocytes, В-lymphocytes, immune system.
