FUNCTIONAL MORPHOLOGY OF OVIDUCTS AND THEIR PATENCY IN COWS

E.N. Skovorodin, S.S. Bogolyuk

The clinical, macro- and micromorphological methods permit to study the oviduct in cows of the Black-and-White breed. The oviduct epithelial tissue is ciliated and secretory cells, muscular layer — three muscle bundle. In oviduct wall the mast cells are presented in perivascular space and areolar tissue. Their degranulation was increased during follicular phase of sexual cycle. In pregnant cows the dendroid structure of folds in oviduct mucous coat smoothes out, as a result of that the size of organ’s opening increases, the secretory cells function intensified, the granular forms of mast cells accumulate in submucous zone, the muscular layer becomes more thick and solid, the adipose capsule of mesosalpinx is formed. А method for diagnosis of cow oviduct patency is proposed, which allows to determine the latent pathology of these organs, manifested as a heightened patency, a relative patency and an absolute obstruction.

Keywords: Bos taurus, cows, reproduction, animal reproductive organs, oviducts, gynaecological diseases, obstruction as a cause of infertility.
