The populations of sheep of the Tuvinian short-fat-tailed breed were investigated with ISSR-PCR (inter simple sequence repeats) markers usage in 18 genofond and livestock farms of Tuva Republik. The genetic parameters of variability and phylogenetic relations between intrabreed groups were determined. The populations were revealed, where typical animals or most closely resemble the averaged genofond of Tuvinian sheeps are concentrated. The data obtained may be used in breeding and conservation of Tuvinian sheeps in situ.

Key words: Inter Simple Sequence Repeats, ISSR profiling of genetic variability, genetic structure, diversity, monitoring, gene pool, conservation in situ.
