I.N. Staroverova, V.I. Maksimov, S.Yu. Zaitsev, M.A. Kordonskaya

It was studied the mineral composition of caged silver-black foxes' hair and skin on different stages of ontogenesis. It was shown that mineral composition of hair and skin are correlated and change during intensive hair's growth, shedding hair and maturation of hair. During early ontogenesis the animals feel some deficit in iodine, magnesium and nickel; during period of growth and development — in calcium; at the age of 3-7 months — in aluminum, sodium, selenium, vanadium, zinc, boron; at the age of 7-12 months — in manganese. The deficiency in live important elements can be compensates by means of mineral addition to ration.

Keywords: silver-black foxes, ontogenesis, hair, skin, mineral composition.
