STATE OF ANTIRADICAL PROTECTION SYSTEM IN BROILERS DURING USE OF SELENIUM CONTAINING PREPARATIONS ON THE BACKGROUND OF TOXIC FEED (review)

S.Yu. Gulyushin, V.O. Kovalev

On the basis of data of literature and own results the authors discuss the theoretical footing for feeding of different form of selenium containing preparations to birds with alimentary chronic mycotoxicosis and also the mechanisms of existent free radical and antioxidant processes. The maximal effectiveness was observed after addition to mixed fodder of chemically synthesized selenium preparations (Seleksen, DAFS 25) in the doses exceeded to 2-3-fold their normal physiological requirements in element. The further increase of results may be possible due to additional prophylaxis strategy and also owing to a breeding of broilers with balanced activity of enzymes of xenobiotic metabolism and increased ability to detoxication.

Key words: mycotoxicosis, poultry, selenium-contained compounds, selenium-contained feed additives, DAFS 25, Selexen, natrium selenite, antiradical defense, Se-depended enzymes.
