M.I. Retskii, A.M. Samotin, G.N. Bliznetsova, S.M. Suleimanov, S.V. Shabunin

In the cattle liver of the Holshtein-Frisian breed in normal state and at fatty degeneration the authors determined the activity of the enzymes regulating lipid peroxidation. The amplification of lipid peroxidation processes and decrease of the antioxidant potential in the liver at its fatty degeneration were established. It allows to use these indices for diagnostics of a fatty degeneration in cattle and serves as basis for apply of antioxidants as preventive maintenance and treatment in the conditions of development of this pathology.

Key words: bulls, liver, fatty dystrophia, lipid peroxidation, antioxidant status.
