REAL AND HYPOTHETICAL DAMAGE FOR FARMING CAUSED BY THE CRANES (Grus grus L.) ON TERRITORY OF EUROPEAN PART OF RUSSIA

The observations during 12 years are keeping for the number, the behavior and the feeding habit of the crane (this species entered to The Red Book) in the places of their autumnal accumulations in connection with damage for farming caused by the cranes. The real loss was evaluated (about 60 tons of a grain per year). The foreign experience for keeping of this species number and simultaneous conservation of agricultural yield is discussed.
