CELLULAR MECHANISMS OF NODULE DEVELOPMENT IN LEGUME PLANTS

A.V. Tsyganova1, A.B. Kitaeva1, N.J. Brewin2, V.E. Tsyganov1

In review some cell mechanisms underlying in the base of symbiotic nodule development at different stages are considered. Special attention has been paid to rearrangements in organization of cytoskeleton elements: tubulin microtubules and actin microfilaments. The role of molecular interactions of glycoconjugates of cell surface of rhizobia and plant cells during growth of infection thread is described. The role of peroxide hydrogen in nodule development is considered.

Keywords: legume-Rhizobium symbiosis, symbiotic nodule, infection thread, bacteroid, peroxide hydrogen, tubulin microtubules, actin microfilaments, arabinogalactan protein-extensins.
