ON APPROACHES TO REALISATION OF FREESIA GENETIC POTENCE IN CREATION OF MORDEN BREEDS

Data are represented on history of introduction and selection of freesia and creation of freesia hybrids in All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute for Floriculture and Subtropical Cultures. The fund of hybrids was obtained by intervarietal, interspecial crossing, by crossing forms with different ploidy and using the embryoculture and seedbud culture in vitro. The biological characteristics of initial varieties and hybrid populations are represented and economic value of hybrids is estimated.
