Because of climatic anomalies all over the world, the problems in food supply may arise. The challenge faced by many countries having the developed agriculture is haw to increase the dairy cattle reproduction and productivity. Animal rations with high protein and hydrocarbon content result in violation of an acid-base balance and the metabolic diseases, of which lactic acidosis is the worst, as it causes the loss of animal reproductive function and early culling. We suggest a solution that combines biological knowledge with modern cybernetic facilities. Feeding and the proper housing conditions are considered as the factors to control animal health. It significantly provides more prolonged economic use of the lactating cows. To implement the concept, we propose a management theory, based on the new mathematical models for dynamics of the individual physiological parameters in animals and their indication. The models allow early prediction of the diseases and pathologies which will lead to animal culling. On the basis of these models the algorithms for optimal control of health and productivity were developed, in which the profit is the optimality criterion. Changes of lactation parameters due to circadian and seasonal rhythms, because of ageing and in the reproductive cycle (normal lactation, pregnancy or dry period), and the genetic potential of productivity of a cow as a basic element of the models are monitored to correct locally «an average management strategy». The factors affecting losses and damage from which the culling arises are also regarded. The total period for planning and management is determined in accordance with the genetic program and bred standards. The developed concept and theory of animal health control have no analogues in the world.

Keywords: dairy farming, food supply, the concept of management, health, life cycle, lactation and daily cycles, control algorithms, mathematical models.
