DEVELOPMENT OF EXOCRINE GLANDS IN ADULT Apis mellifera L. IN CONNECTION WITH TEMPERATURE AT POST EMBRYO STAGE OF ONTOGENESIS

M.D. Es’kova

In working individuals of honey bee (Apis mellifera L.) the author studied the influence of temperature during post embryo development on the sizes of exocrine glands (mandible, salivary and chest). It was shown that the state of hypopharyngeal and mandibular glands at imago stage has inverse relationship from incubation temperature of brood from prepupa stage to termination of post embryo development. This affects an age dynamics of variability of hypopharingeal and mandibular glands. The maximal development of chest gland reservoir at the temperature optimum corresponds to the laws of temperature variability for the size of metalas.

Keywords: bees, Apis mellifera L., exocrine glands, temperature, age, variability.
