INFECTIOUS ACTIVITY OF CATTLE RESPIRATORY-SINCITIAL VIRUS IN CELL CULTURES

I.Ya. Stroganova1, L.M. Akbaeva2

The authors studied the sensitivity of 27 cell cultures (organ culture, monolayer primary trypsin cultures and their subcultures, diploid, transplantable lines) to RS-B and RS-R strains of respiratory-sincitial virus of cattle. The diploid cultures of lung and kidney of cow’s embryo, the transplantable lines of kidney of sheep and calf embryos, the calf kidney and primary trypsin culture of lung of cow’s embryo are the most sensitive to RS-B strain. The RS-R strain reveals greater infectious activity than RS-B strain.

Keywords: respiratory syncytial virus, cattle, cell cultures.
